After consolidating its position in the thermal and hydel power segments, CESC Ltd, the private power generation- cum-distribution major of the RP—Sanjiv Goenka Group, is now banking on the renewable energy segment.
While work at the 90-MW hydel power project by CESC at Jarong in Arunachal Pradesh is in progress, two more sites in Rajasthan will have solar power units of 25-MW each, said Sanjiv Goenka, group chairman.
“We will be focusing on the western part of India, especially Gujarat and Rajasthan. All these states provide immense opportunity for solar power generation because of longer durations and direct sunlight,” Goenka said after company’s 33rd AGM on Friday.
