Chaudhary case accused nabbed

CITY POLICE nabbed two assailants that had shot at a journalist, M Y Chaudhary of Bab-e-Ali gate area on early morning of February 15.

The accused have confessed to committing the crime and police are interrogating them to get further information about the case. SP A K Singh told today that the culprits, Mubeen of Nasrullaganj and Izhaar (50) of Shaymala Hills here had fired at Chaudhary from close range with a country made revolver at about 6.30 am on February 15. Chaudhary, who had sustained pellet injuries on head and behind the ears, was saved.

During investigations, the Teela Jamalpura police seized a denim jacket left behind by one of the assailants while fleeing. A chit with some telephone numbers was recovered from the jacket’s pocket and on that basis police carried out investigations.

One of the telephone numbers in the jacket led police to Mubeen, who is a seasoned criminal of Nasrullaganj. He was nabbed. During interrogation, he confessed to committing the crime.

On his instance, police nabbed Izhaar, who is a plumber in the PHE department. Initial interrogation of the culprits revealed that the attempt on Chaudhary’s life was made in connection with some irregularities in the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC). Police are interrogating both culprits.
