Chauhan made NLIU director
PROF BALRAJ Chauhan will be the new director of prestigious National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal. General council of the institute endorsed his appointment to the post at a special meeting convened here on February 12.
PROF BALRAJ Chauhan will be the new director of prestigious National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal. General council of the institute endorsed his appointment to the post at a special meeting convened here on February 12.
The post had fallen vacant after Prof Moolchand Sharma relinquished the post following his appointment as Secretary in the University Grants Commission (UGC).
Prof Chauhan hails from Lucknow and is presently professor of law at Lucknow University, Lucknow. He is a well-known authority in the field of criminal law. He has received prestigious fellowships, including the Commonwealth Foundation Fellowship-2001 and fellowship of Indian Society of Criminology. He also has a number of publications in the national and international journals to his credit.
He has visited various universities in US, Scotland, South Africa etc besides attending seminars, conferences both in the country and abroad.
