The police have recovered the motorcycle that was snatched from a resident of a nearby locality by the unknown assailants and used in the crime.

The incident occurred at 9.15 pm on Friday, when two motorcycle-borne youths accosted M S Saini, owner of Kritica Medicos on the main road of Rajiv Nagar, took out a revolver and asked him to had over cash to them.

However, when Saini refused to follow their orders, one of them fired two shots at him from point blank range and killed him on the spot.

About 500 people later carried out a combing operation in the densely-populated Rajiv Nagar locality, hunting for the criminals without a valid identity.

On Saturday, more than 300 medical stores downed their shutters for about an hour on a call given by the District Gurgaon Chemists and Druggists Association (DGCDA) to express their anger against rising crime against traders.

About a week ago, two motorcycle-borne criminals had snatched Rs. 25,000 from Sharad Mehrotra, owner of another medical store, DGCDA members claimed.
