Chennai: Spiritual magazine editor, wife commit suicide

Srinivasa Raghavan, 50, and wife Janaki, 43, had sent their son to his grandparents’ place before allegedly committing suicide, the police said.

Suspicious neighbours alerted Raghavan’s office after they found milk packets and newspapers untouched. Raghavan’s colleagues broke into his house later and found the couple hanging in different rooms.

According to reports, the couple were allegedly unable to repay their housing loan and may have taken the step due to a financial crunch.

The Royala Nagar police station has registered a case.
