This band was formed one year back and includes six members- Gaurang Gautam, Akshay Singh, Osama Noor, Siddharth Ranjan, Shikhar Sharma and Prateek Santram. Gaurang explains, “Flux 13, the name of the band came from the constant inconsistency that we had.

All of us were playing music somewhere or the other but we were very inconsistent and so we decided upson Flux. As for 13, it comes when we add our birth dates and then bring them down to these two digits.”

All these youngsters are very clear about the kind of music they want to play. Shikhar says, “We basically like rock music like Guns ’n Roses, Metallica, Metal and Bon Jovi.

However, it is very hard to survive only on rock music in Lucknow. We have to play commercial music as well.”

But do these kids want to take up music as a career? “No. We can’t survive on music as a career. It does not pay well. Most of us will take up different careers.

Like for instance somebody here wants to do law, somebody wants to get in management or automobile designing and one of us wants to take up social work.

But then there are one or two people who are keen on taking up music as a career,” says Siddharth.

The group has performed at places like Amity University, Surya Club and La Martiniere. There next performance is scheduled on June 11 at Planet M.

“Most of us are still in school and manage the band along with our academics.

It’s difficult to balance music and studies but we manage it well,” says Gaurang.

They tell that they get amazing support from their parents.

But do all the members get along well with each other? “Well, yes we do try and adjust with each other,” all of the say together.

Apart from this, these young boys do whatever others at their age do. “We go out with friends, we play different sports and love watching TV,” says Shikhar.
