“I wonder why they are threatening me with expulsion from the party. Let me make it clear to them: I am a member of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and it was the BJP leadership which requested the VHP to send some leaders to the BJP as they felt our need”, Swami Chinmayanand told a public rally at the district headquarter here on Wednesday.

Raising the banner of revolt against the BJP leadership for plunging the party into an ideological crisis, the Swami said the Janadesh Yatra taken out by Uma Bharti was the need of the hour to overcome the failures of the top BJP leadership.

“ At the same place where I am addressing the people, a leader (without naming Rajnath Singh) sat on an indefinite dharna against the gruesome killing of BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai and to demand a CBI enquiry into the killing, but ironically the dharna which was changed into a Nyay Yatra was not taken out in Mau where an onslaught on Hindus wrecked havoc on the Hindu community and the demand for late Rai’s murder disappeared in thin air.”

“ The people will not accept the double standards of these leaders and will punish them”, he declared and rubbished BJP state chief Kesari Nath Tripathi’s assertion that notice had been served on him for joining Uma Bharti’s Janadesh Yatra.

“ I have not received any such notice”, he said. It may be mentioned that Uma Bharti also made it clear that she was also on deputation to BJP from the VHP.
Later, talking to HT, Swami said whatever Uma Bharti said was absolutely right and he too was right in joining her yatra.
