In Rewa division alone, Rs 230 crore were expended in constructing more than 1,000 km of pathways, he added. “The BJP regime will achieve in three years what predecessor regimes could not achieve in five decades”, he assured last evening while addressing a public meeting here. Rewa is a principal town of Vindhya region, which borders Uttar Pradesh.

Pointing out that everyone knew the pathetic condition of roads during the Congress rule, Mr Chouhan added that the BJP government laid 12,000 km of roads over the past two years.

“In a democracy, everyone enjoys the right to speak his or her mind but it is hard to even express the manner in which democracy was murdered in this region during Congress tenure”, he said.

Slamming the working style of MP’s predecessor regime and its leaders, Chouhan quipped that if the Congress boasted of “several tigers in its ranks” the BJP had no paucity of hunters.
