A court in Pakistan handed down a 15-year jail sentence to two Christians for burning pages of the Koran, the Daily Times said.

The defendants, both male members of the same family, were also fined $411 by the Anti-Terrorist Court, Faisalabad at the weekend for the act committed on September 6.
Desecration of the Koran falls under Pakistan's Blasphemy Law, which prescribes a maximum penalty of death.
But in recognition of the possible use of false witness testimonies by rivals to settle scores, courts generally only impose prison terms.
