CID teams raid Amway offices in Andhra

The raids were conducted on specific complaints and a number of documents and articles were seized.

State CID teams on Monday conducted simultaneous raids on Amway offices in Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Nizamabad, Kurnool, Kakinada, Guntur and Nellore on specific complaints and seized a number of documents and articles.

According to a press release in Hyderabad, the complainant said he was trapped by the members of Amway, a multi-level marketing company, who forced him to become its member and harassed him mentally to enrol members for the company.

As a part of investigations, CID teams have registered cases against Amway in every centre.

The case details would be passed on to drug authorities, Income Tax and Sales Tax Departments for alleged violation of various laws.
