This decision has been taken by the District Magistrate and Nagar Nigam Administrator, Amrit Abhijat.

The Administrator has ordered the NN officials to constitute the committees in each ward of Nigam consisting of one businessman having minimum turnover of Rs 20,000,an advocate,a journalist, a teacher and one representative from Civil Defence Organisation and one people's representative as members of committee.

Meanwhile two former corporators Shiv Sewak Singh and Kamlesh Singh recently met the NN administrator and handed over a memorandum through which they demanded the cleaning of nullahs (drains) on a priority basis to avoid water-logging in the low-lying areas of the city during monsoon season. They specially drew the attention of administrator towards water-logging in Tagore Town,Allahpur,George Town, Madhwapur and Alopibagh localities in 2000 .

To recall, the Allahabad High Court has ordered cleaning of all nullahs and removal of illegal construction over drains in the city. However, construction of three major drains including drains along Jawaharlal Nehru Road , Buxi Bund and Mahatma Gandhi Marg was not completed so far, said both the corporators.

They said that the pumps at Buxi Bund should be used upto optimum capacity to solve the problem of water-logging. They demanded that special watch should be kept on drain cleaning work in order to check the out-break of infectious diseases due to water-logging and filth.

Meanwhile, the administrator inspected the ongoing construction work on three link roads at Patrika Road, CY Chintamani Road and Kundan Guest House Road and checked whether the prescribed norms were being followed in construction of roads.

He instructed the Chief Engineer RK Verma to complete construction work on all roads by May end as sanctioned by him recently. DM also asked him to ensure marking on the roads.
