City lad second in SSC exam

KAILASH CHAND Kankani did the city proud by securing all India second rank in Section Officer (commercial audit) held by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) the results of which became available over the Internet yesterday.

Kankani who made it into this class-B post in the Central Government has also been selected for class-C post of Tax Assistant in Central Excise and Customs Department.

He had done self-preparation for the written exam and recommended studying only through authentic books of reputed writers and publications. Though the competition is very tough, eight hours to 10 hours of regular study and extra effort make all the difference.

The exam consisted of descriptive paper having GK, English and Arithmetic totalling 200 marks and descriptive paper of commerce having 200 marks. The total written paper consists of 400 marks for which Kailash appeared on September 25, 2005, in Bhopal.

He appeared for his interview of 100 marks on April 25, 2006, at Raipur. More than one lakh aspirants sat in the exam for 200 posts, and 600 got selected for the interview.
