In their bid to provide better facilities to women shoppers, malls in the city have started reserving parking space exclusively for them.

Shopping malls like MGF and DT Mega Mall have come up with the idea to attract more female shoppers.
MGF Mall has developed a special parking lot for women, wherein seven to eight slots have been reserved for them.
“We came up with this special idea to facilitate women drivers. We have given them parking space near the lift, which makes it more convenient for them. It will also help pregnant women,” said Col (retd) KS Khatana, manager, DT Mega Mall.
“We have also arranged a security guard as well for their safety,” he added.
Residents have expressed happiness over the decision. “It’s a welcome move. Women must be given their due in all spheres of life,” said Jyotsna Anand, a resident of Nirvana Country.
“The special parking reservation will make female shoppers’ task easier,” said Sonia Nanda, another resident.
