Basai water treatment plant was established years ago to meet the city’s need, the population has gone ten times in the past ten years. Why has the water supplying capacity not increased?
The government has planned several projects and increased channel capacity. We have set up a separate plant at Chandu Budhera and laying pipelines. So there are plans to improve water supply system in the city.
Water storage capacity of the Huda is much less than required and this issue has been raised a number of times by residents. Do you think it needs to be taken care of?
Gurgaon canal water (raw) sources’ capacity has been increased from 100 to 175 cusecs just to meet the city’s demand. Another plant was set up at Chandu Budhera. Its capacity will be increased to 66 MGD to meet the demand.
What has been a big concern for New Gurgaon residents that many of the areas still are not connected with the Basai canal. Do you have any plan?
Yes, we have plans to lay water pipelines for areas like the Golf Course extension road.
