At a rally organised on Sunday in Mahendragarh district by Rao Inderjit Singh, the elected representative of Gurgaon and Rewari, urged for the solution of much delayed project of Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) Canal.

The project entails the irrigation of dry patches of Haryana by making a canal on the surplus Ravi-Beas waters.

But owing to perpetual opposition by Punjab, the matter couldn't be solved and is still pending with the Supreme Court.

Singh urged the huge gathering of around 15,000 (as per a modest estimate) to write a letter each to the court and also to the President of India.

"If you get tired of writing these letters, ask your kids to write letters, atleast once a week," said Singh.
