City whizkid invents ?space sweeping machine?
AKASH TEWARI, student of class X, Kendriya Vidyalaya OEF is the new whizkid of Kanpur. High pollution levels, dirty lanes, filthy surroundings never broken his heart but inspired him to invent something, which the mighty Americans never thought about. AKASH TEWARI, student of class X, Kendriya Vidyalaya OEF is the new whizkid of Kanpur. High pollution levels, dirty lanes, filthy surroundings never broken his heart but inspired him to invent something, which the mighty Americans never thought about. He has invented a “space sweeping machine” which he has displayed in his space sweeper model, through which he claims, it would be possible for the scientists to clean the trash out of space.
Fourteen-year-old Akash, became talk of the town when he was nominated for the first three positions of the POGO Amazing Kids Award, for his remarkable work.
Akash is confident to bag the first prize in his section. Along with that, he has also mailed the details about his work and research to NASA and Indian Science and Research Organisation (ISRO).
Akash had happiest moment of his life when he got appreciation letter through mail written by none other than his ideal President APJ Abdul Kalam, who appreciated his work and inspired him to become a scientist and serve his country. Kalam also advised him to get it published in some good science books.
Akash claims that the hoper fitted in the model would compress the junk in the form of a capsule and would bring it back to earth and clear the junkyard in the space.
Taking to Hindustan Times Akash said, “This is just the first phase of my model now I would develop a technology to sent this trash to another orbit other than bringing it back it back to earth.”
“I am looking forward to take part in the Inter Science Exhibition in Mexico and hopes to be a winner,” said Akash and added, “The filth and pollution in the city and death of Kalpana Chawla in a space tragedy of Columbia have inspired me to invent this model instead of breaking my spirits.” “It took two years of hard work to complete the first phase of the model. For which I thank my father Vimal Tewari and my uncle Kamal Tewari for helping me in designing the project,” said Akash.
Akash has ambition of becoming a space scientist in the future, and even his parents want the same.
Presently, Akash is concentrating on his studies to achieve good marks in the board exams but in the future he wish to have his own astronomical lab in which he wish to invent a telescope through that he could come to know all the space happenings.
In the past, Akash has also drawn various models like that of automatic railway crossing, production of electricity from smoke, and many more.
A happy looking principal of his school OEF Kendriya Vidyala, Swarna Srivastava said, “We are proud of Akash and his achievements, we will always support the wonder kid in the future assignments.”
Although, Akash is too small to think about the serious issues of the country but he is worried about the neglect of talent and promotion of mediocre talents just for the political gains. He is also sore about the rampant corruption due to upcoming of mediocre talents in every field.
On a question, Akash said that if in future he gets an offer from both NASA and ISRO. “Of Course, ISRO as India is my birthplace, I would love to work for the development of the society.
