Clash outside Bengal college during students' polls

Two groups clashed outside the Kaliachak College in Malda district during the election to the students' union of the college today, a senior police officer said.

Two groups clashed outside the Kaliachak College in Malda district during the election to the students' union of the college today, a senior police officer said.

Superintendent of police Kalyan Mukherjee said two groups clashed in the road outside the Kaliachak College in Sultanganj during the election to the students' union.

The Inspector of Police of Kaliachak Police Station rushed to the spot with a force and brought the situation under control, the SP said adding there was no report of any person injured in the clash.

Unofficial sources said the two groups clashed with firearms and bombs during the college students' union election but the SP denied it.
