According to Sangh coordinator Devi Prasad Sharma, the decision to hold demonstration was taken following the negligent attitude of the government towards the 12-point programme of the Sangh.
Sharma explained that the main demands of the sangh were an increase in the promotion opportunities of Class IV employees, the bonus due to the employees be cleared with immediate effect, inclusion of 20 more wards in the gas-affected wards category and a change of name to grade-4 helpers from the current name of class four employees.
