A cultural organisation Kala Prakash organised the concert on the occasion of 100th birth anniversary of late Babu Kishori Raman. The classical concert was dedicated to Children’s Day and Shehnai maestro late Ustad Bismillah Khan.

The legendary Sarod player Amjad Ali Khan started the concert by rendering the popular tune ‘Hum Honge Kamyab Ek Din’. He kept the audience mesmerised with a number of notes such as ‘Maru Vihag’, ‘Teen Raal’, ‘Mishra Shivranjani’ and ‘Shubhalaxmi’.

Amjad Ali Khan filled the atmosphere with devotion by reciting the songs ‘Vaishnav Jan To Tere Ne Kahiyeje’ and ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’. Ustad Rashid Mustafa and Pt. Shubhanker accompanied Sarod maestro on Tabla.

Earlier, Sri Raman, Rama Raman, Radha Raman and Ashok Kapoor welcomed Amjad Ali Khan.

In an informal chat with mediapersons, Amjad Ali Khan said that classical music is matchless and is soul of India. He expressed concern over lack of a standard auditorium in Varanasi. He also expressed his desire to recite Sarod at the banks of holy river Ganga in Varanasi.
