He will also address a public meeting at Gangotri Devi Stadium on his first visit to the district after the party candidate’s victory in Kauriram assembly by-election.
The people are hoping that the chief minister will announce various development projects as he promised in the election meeting at Santodi Bandoli on March 23 that there would be not paucity of funds for development of the constituency.

MLC Ganesh Shanker Pandey and district unit president of the party Chandrabali Yadav expressed the hope that the proposed meeting would be historical from the point of view of development, as the SP contested the recent byelection on developmental issues.

Talking to mediapersons Ganesh Pandey claimed that the chief minister had taken concrete steps for the betterment of every section of society. For the first time, separate budget was allocated to handle the killer Japanese Encephalitis (JE), unemployed youths would get unemployment stipend and girl students were getting Rs 20,000 under Kanya Vidya Dhan Scheme. He said no other state had started such compact programmes for the poor except the UP government.

Responding to a question, he said the victory of the Samajwadi Party candidate had proved the popularity of SP policies and other political parties had no issue except to destabilise the government.

The victory of the Samajwadi Party candidate with a handsome margin had consolidated the SP’s position in the area. After a long gap, the SP leaders had an upper hand in the political scenario of the region.

Though the Bahujan Samaj Party had not fielded any candidate, the political experts of the BSP tried their best to ensure the defeat of the SP candidate in this election.

All such attempts were foiled and the victory of the Samajwadi Party was the result of the strategy of local party leaders, he said.
