‘Bunts’ are the cash-rich Shetty and Nair communities, known for treating guests to a plethora of gastronomic pleasures. The exotic names of the dishes at this festival and their presentation second that reputation. From the pathrode (fried colocasia leaf roll), lambu ghee roast (mushroom), yetti ghee roast (prawn) to the thure bele saru (white pumpkin curry and toor dal), everything is prepared with coconut and is delicious. The fresh coconut water and dessert made of sweetened coconut grains sum up a hearty meal.
