The BJP served non-vegetarian fare at its conclave during the pitrapaksh (period devoted to ancestors as per the almanac), which amounted to insulting Hindu culture and tradition, party spokesman Surendra Kumar said in a statement on Friday.

He said that there were no objections to eating non-vegetarian food at home, but there were reservations about it being served publicly.
