Thakre said the children expressed their best wishes for the young leader, who epitomises the dreams and aspirations of youth, oppressed and neglected sections of the society.
He said such celebratory functions are being organised in every district and taluka of the state to observe "Yuva Shakti Divas (day)".
Mumbai Congress chief Kripashankar Singh and Mumbai South Central MP Eknath Gaikwad distributed sweets and notebooks to children at "Children Aid Society" in Matunga in Central Mumbai.
