Congress fields Imtiaz Khan against Kalyan

Congress has nominated KK Sharma as its candidate for the Meerut Lok Sabha seat and Imtiaz Ahmed Khan from Bulandshahar.

Congress on Tuesday nominated party secretary KK Sharma as its candidate for the Meerut Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh in place of Avtar Singh Bhadana who has been shifted to Faridabad seat in Haryana.

AICC general secretary Oscar Fernandes said in a statement that the Central election Committee of the party has also cleared the name of Imtiaz Ahmed Khan from Bulandshahar Lok Sabha seat against BJP former UP Chief Minister and BJP candidate Kalyan Singh.

Khan, a former Congressman had left the party before the last Lok Sabha polls but rejoined the party last month with a hope to contest from the seat.
