The ruling-INLD managed to win only nine seats and was leading in just one seat.

BJP, who was an alliance partner of INLD in the previous election, managed to win just two seats.

The INLD president and Chief Minister Om Parkash Chautala romped home from Rori constituency by a margin of 26,578 votes.

But Chautala, the only non-Congress Chief Minister to complete five-year term, lost from Narwana.

Prominent winners for the Congress included three-time Chief Minister Bhajan Lal from Adampur and former Minister Anand Singh Dangi.

Haryana Congress President Bhajan Lal has already staked his claim for the Chief Ministership in the state.
