Karnataka district Congress on Monday held a huge protest in front of District Collector's office in Shimoga criticising the "anti-people activities and misrule" of BJP’s governtment in the state.
Led by senior leaders of the party including former ministers Kagodu Thimmappa, Kumar Bangarappa and party’s present and former MLAs staged a protest criticising "various irregularities" of the state government.
Workers shouted slogans criticising "various harmful decisions of the state government. They charged the Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa with protecting the interests of mine owners who are also leaders of his party for their alleged "looting of the public money and natural wealth" of the state.
Congress leaders who addressed the workers said the party would intensify the agitation to create awareness among the public about the "misdeeds" of the ruling party.
