Speaking on the occasion, Agrawal said on the one hand the State Government had failed to create jobs for unemployed youth as the BJP had promised in its election manifesto and on the other it seemed to have decided to deprive more than 3,500 people employed at different polytechnics of the State of their jobs.

Describing the decision to privatise polytechnics as ‘casual, and thoughtless’, he demanded an immediate halt to the process undertaken in this regard.

Amidst slogan shouting against the State Government, agitated Congress workers also tried to block traffic on the Polytechnic Square but later withdrew following Manak Agrawal’s request.
