It all began over the distribution of forms for Fine Arts degree of Maharashtra government. Singh said, “On Saturday a little over 1,000 forms had been sold off. As a result we displayed a notice on the board that forms were no more available. However, despite the notice there was a long queue of boys today, who wanted the forms but the college expressed its helplessness.”
Meanwhile , a cop who too had come to take the form instigated the boys to go berserk by saying that the college authorities were selling forms in the black market. The boys caught hold of a teacher Shyam Singh and were thrashing him badly when a teacher rushed to save him.
Earlier, a cop torched the mobike of a teacher and was about to torch another teacher’s vehicle when teachers rushed to catch him. Angry over the teachers’ action the culprit cop went to George Town police station and returned with a force only to rain lathi blows on teachers.
These allegations were levelled by president of KP Trust, Chaudhary Jitendra Singh, who talked to this correspondent on phone. The teachers also saw a policeman torching a mobike belonging to their colleague. But by this time the mobike was already on fire. The teachers caught the cop while he was torching another bike. This angered the cop and he left for the GT Police station issuing threats. Condemning the police highhandedness, president of the trust has demanded strict action against all cops responsible for committing the crime.
