Cops seize 2 kg fake silver coins in city
THE KOTWALI police on Friday seized two kilogram fake silver coins. The police arrested the man, identified as Harpal resident of Bijnor district, from Mohammad Ali Park. He had already sold some coins to a few jewellers in the city. Talking to HT about the arrest, CO Rajesh Chaurasia said the jewellers would sell those fake silver coins on the occasion of Dhanteras at higher prices to innocent customers.

However, the jewellers denied having purchased such coins.
Injured: SSO Kalyani Devi sub-station Sabir Hussain and line man Hansraj sustained severe burns after the transformer at the sub-station caught fire. The officials present at the sub-station sent them to a nursing home that said SSO’s injuries were very critical.
Dead: A 25-year-old man Budh Ram, resident Beerapur in Soraon, succumbed to his injuries at the SRN hospital. He was was undergoing treatment at the hospital after sustaining injuries in an attack by his neighbour.
