Talking to mediapesons on Thursday evening, SSP Ashutosh Pandey confirmed the arrests and established the identity of the accused as Kuldeep Mishra, Manoj Shukla and the woman Matehlat. Nasim was found killed in a village in Sarnath on July 29.

Acting on a tip off, SSP said, police checked a Sumo near the Pandeypur crossing late in the afternoon on Thursday and took out three persons, including a lady from the four-wheeler for interrogation. During interrogation, Kuldeep Mishra, Manoj Shukla and Mahetlat admitted their involvement in the murder.

Matehlat, a resident of Bari Bazar in Jaitpura, had been married to one Tanvir in 1990. Later, after being divorced by the husband, the woman got in touch with another man Nasim and started living with him. Nasim arranged a job of receptionist for the woman in a diagnostic centre of Guddu and Pappu Mishra.

Matehlat developed some proximity with Mishra brothers, which Nasim did not like and asked her to leave the job. When, she refused, he threatened her with dire consequences. The woman told about it to Pappu Mishra.

Later, as a well-planned conspiracy, Nasim, after being served liquor by the accused was killed and his body was dumped in the village.

Police are continuing raids to arrest three more accused of this case. Guddu, Pappu and their driver Fekan have been absconding.
