Corruption, illiteracy, terrorism and economic inequality were the immediate challenges to be tackled by the country, former President A P J Abdul Kalam said.

Corruption, illiteracy, terrorism and economic inequality were the immediate challenges to be tackled by the country, former President A P J Abdul Kalam said on Saturday.
Inaugurating the valedictory function of the golden jubilee of T K M engineering college in Kollam, he said youth with leadership quality should come to the fore to fight for rightful causes.
Youth leaders should have transparency and honesty, he said and added that agriculture, education, IT, drinking water and women's education were the areas to be taken care of.
The result of 'Vision 2020' would be based on education, he told the gathering including a large number of students.
