A Cost Accountant combines the knowledge of taxation and accountancy with management, specially in stabilising budgets and standards, evaluating operational efficiency, identifying accountability for cost and profit variance and thus guiding managerial decisions.
A qualified Cost and Works Accountant can find jobs in the field of accounts, finance, taxation, audit and costing in the industry, or government organisations, or become a finance consultant. The Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India imparts training in this field.
What does a Company Secretary do?
Company Secretaries are the chief administrators of companies handling finance as well as legal matters for the company.
A CS needs to know relevant aspects of the law and legislation affecting company business, while also maintaining the company’s records, completing the company’s tax returns and advising the company on legal and statutory obligations.
