Counting of votes for the 200 member Rajasthan Assembly began on Thursday morning amid tight security at all district headquarters.

The political fate of 1541 candidates, including Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, BJP's chief ministerial candidate Vasundhara Raje and three former Chief Ministers Shiv Charan Mathur, Jagannath Pahadia and Heera Lal Devpura were sealed in the electronic voting machines during polling on December 1.

Two Deputy Chief Ministers Kamala Beniwal and Banwari Lal Bairwa, Deputy Speaker of Assembly Devendra Singh and former Deputy Chief Minister Hari Shankar Bhabhara are among those in the fray.

Election department expects early trends and results as EVMs were used in the polls.
