A local court has issued fresh summons to noted painter MF Hussain and former model and social activist Nafisa Ali in a case relating to controversial paintings of Hindu goddesses.

Judge Arvind Raghuvanshi on Tuesday asked Hussain and Nafisa to be present for the hearing on July 27, on a petition filed by advocate RK Pandey.
Hussain was accused of depicting Hindu goddesses in objectionable manner in his paintings, while Nafisa was charged with posting it for sale on her firm's website.
The court had earlier issued summons asking them to appear before it on Tuesday.
Fresh summons were issued, as the previous ones could not be served.
