According to the police, the victim, a resident of Jharkhand’s Gumla district, had gone missing 10 days ago. Her harried parents had lodged a missing person’s complaint with the police in Gumla.

“She was found unconscious outside the ISBT entrance around 10:30pm last evening. We rushed her to Bara Hindu Rao Hospital where she told us that her cousin had lured her to Delhi on the pretext of employment and had been raping her along with one of his friends over the last week,” said an officer.

The police, quoting the victim’s statement, said she had reached the capital 10 days ago and was then employed as a maid at a house in Patel Nagar.

After she would finish her work for the day, her cousin would take her to his rented accommodation where he and his friend would then take turns to sexually assault her.

“A medical examination conducted on her confirmed sexual assault. We have identified the accused duo and have informed our counterparts in Jharkhand about the matter. Arrests will be made soon,” the officer added.
