Cricketer Salil Ankola’s ex-wife commits suicide
Former Indian international cricketer Salil Ankola’s former wife Parineeta reportedly committed suicide at her parents’ residence in Geeta Society at Salisbury Park area of Gultekdi on Sunday evening.
Parineeta was found hanged to ceiling fan with the help of dupatta at around 8pm, said officials from Swargate police station. Parineeta along with her son (21) and daughter (16) was staying with her mother since 2010 after she had got divorced from Salil Ankola, a right-arm fast medium bowler who played for India during 1990s.
According to inspector Ram Pathare, Parineeta has left a suicide note behind.
"A suicide note has been recovered from her residence stating that she has committed suicide due to frustration. In her note she has stated that no one should be held responsible for her suicide." Pathare said, there was no mention about Salil Ankola in the note.
"On Sunday afternoon her family members stepped out the house and returned at night around 8pm. It is then they saw Parineeta had hanged herself to the ceiling fan with the help of her dress," said Pathare.
Late in the evening, Parineeta’s body was taken to Sassoon hospital for autopsy.
