Criminal lynched by irate mob

THREE PERSONS, including a criminal, were killed and two others seriously injured in separate incidents in the city. The injured have been admitted to hospital where their condition is stated to be out of danger.

A man called Dinu Yadav was shot dead and another, Raju Sonker, was injured by two unidentified miscreants in Khalispura area in the wee hours on Monday.

The assailants fled the scene. Police have registered a case of murder and attempt to murder against two persons.

According to information received from police, Raj Sonker, a fish seller, was going to the market at around 5. 30 pm from Agustkunda locality. As he reached Khalispura , two miscreants opened fire at him. A man, Dinu also sustained bullet injury in the shootout and died.

On getting information, police rushed the injured Raj Sonker to a private hospital where he was admitted to the ICU. Police are trying to find out whether Dinu was a friend of Raj.

Prior to this on Sunday evening, a miscreant was beaten to death by an irate mob when he was trying to escape after shooting at a young trader in Ausanganj under Jaitpura police station.Reports said 28-year-old trader Ratnadeep Gupta was talking to someone outside a tea stall in Ausanganj at around 7.30 pm when three inebriated miscreants, including a history sheeter of the area, Om Prakash Guddu, opened fire at him. As the miscreants tried to flee the scene brandishing their firearms, the locals quickly nabbed Guddu while the other two managed to escape .

The locals severely beat up the miscreant, who later died in hospital during treatment.

Commotion gripped the area for nearly an hour when the miscreants opened fire and the locals in retaliation, chased the miscreants and nabbed one of them amid firing.

In another incident of crime, a 30-year-old man, a jewellery artisan, was shot in Suria area on Sunday night. The deceased has been identified as Dipu Samant Police are interrogating several persons in this connection.
