In Srinagar city, curfew was imposed in several areas under seven police stations -- Nowhatta, Khanyar, Rainawari, Safakadal, M R Gunj, Bemina and Qammerwari, police said.

They said curfew will also remain in force in Kupwara and Kralpora towns of north Kashmir, while restrictions have been imposed in Hyderpora and Budgam towns in central Kashmir.

The hardline faction of Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani, spearheading the ongoing agitation, has called for a complete strike and protests throughout the Valley.
