Ghaziabad Police arrested three people from Indirapuram on Sunday and claim to have busted a Commonwealth Games (CWG) betting syndicate.

The Indirapuram police officials arrested Yogesh Kumar Gupta — the alleged mastermind, Ravi Kumar and Rahul Kumar from their flat at Aditya Mega City, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Raghubir Lal said.
"The gang transacts around Rs10-12 lakh daily and currently involved in betting on CWG events such as wrestling, archery, shooting, hockey and tennis. They put up bets on Indian players' probability of winning gold-medals," said Lal.
Gupta said he acted in connivance with another major dealer named Amar Bajaj, a resident of Tilak Nagar in Delhi.
The police has recovered account books, seven core banking account cheque-books, cash and other ledgers maintained for keeping transactions from the accused.
The accused disclosed that he received several numbers from Delhi over his mobile phone and accordingly paid and received cash and cheques from customers.
The three accused were produced before a Ghaziabad court.
