In a highly physical encounter, Canada forged ahead in the 13th minute through Iain Smythe, who deflected a centre from Sukhwinder Singh. A desperate England equalised past the 50th minute through Simon Mantell, who scored off Ashley Jackson’s pass.
It was Canada’s first point from two matches while England, who won their opening game, dropped two valuable points.
