Dacoits kill home guard, injure 9 of a family
DACOITS KILLED a home guard and injured nine members of a family after looting cash and jewellery from a house situated barely 10 feet away from Bhaupur police post under Shivli police station in Kanpur Dehat in the wee hours on Sunday. A constable was also injured in cross-firing.

Meanwhile, police personnel posted at Bhaupur police post have been suspended as in the cross-firing they failed to target even a single miscreant.
Notably, the same house was raided by dacoits some days back when neighbours of Bhagwan Das, who lives with his three brothers Haridas, Govindas and Ramdas and their families in the same house, opened fire from their licensed guns on miscreants and foiled their attempt.
According to information, around 1.30 am on Sunday nearly a dozen dacoits entered the house of Bhagwandas, who is a grocer, from the terrace of the house whereas another dozen of them cordoned off the house.
After entering the house, dacoits started beating up Haridas with iron rods.
On hearing his scream, one of the neighbours, Omkar Gupta opened fire with his licensed gun.
Meanwhile, constable Shivnath and his associate home guard Balwan Singh who were taking a round of the area found a dozen of dacoits standing near the house. Dacoits opened fire on Balwan Singh and he died on the spot whereas, while constable Shivnath sustained a bullet injury.
Several neighbours who were taking on dacoits were also hit with bullets fired by miscreants. The entire event lasted for about 45 minutes and miscreants fled with cash and other valuables from the house.
The injured persons, who were injured have been identified as Dinesh Gupta, Omkar Gupta, Haridas, Bhagwandas, Nishu d/o Dinesh Gupta, Neelam, Shanu Gupta, Chotte Gupta and Neetu. All were admitted to the LLR hospital here.
