IN YET another onslaught against the State government, the District Congress Committee is all set to stage a massive demonstration at Moolganj crossing on July 1.

Senior Congress leaders, including State Congress president Salman Khurshid and Union Minister of State for Home, Sriprakash Jaiswal, will take part in the agitation on Saturday.
After Jaiswal launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav here on Wednesday, today it was the turn of District Congress president, Abdul Mannan, to do the same.
Mannan accused chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav of issuing misleading statements and defaming the people of the city.
“Congress party has been more than willing to extend all possible help in streamlining the power supply of the city. But the State government is issuing adverse statements, both against the Congress party as well as the residents of Kanpur,” stated Mannan.
Under the overall revamping of Kanpur Electric Supply Company (KESCo), six new substations were being constructed, four were being renovated while the Ariel Bunch Conductors were being laid at three places, Mannan further added.
“All this is possible only because of the Rs 44 crore fund released for KESCo by the Union government under the prestigious Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Program (APDRP),” asserted Mannan.
The Congress leader also accused the Samajwadi Party of issuing false statements relating to development of the State.
“The State government will be exposed before the masses on July 1 when the Congress leaders will present the truth before them,” pointed out Mannan.
Meanwhile, the District Congress Committee has planned a series of demonstrations against the State government, according to party sources..
