This order was passed by a Division Bench, comprising Justice Amitava Lala and Justice VC Mishra, on a writ petition filed by Noida engineers.
The plea of the petitioners (engineers) was that their demand for enhancement of retirement age from 58 to 60 years had been recommended and pending for consideration before the State Cabinet.
State counsel RN Pandey informed the court that the State Cabinet had postponed the matter for the time being.
The court, after hearing petitioner’s counsel as well as the state counsel, has directed that the case of the petitioners be decided by the cabinet within three months.
Pal case
THE ALLAHABAD High Court has fixed September 26 as the next date of hearing on a writ petition seeking a CBI probe into the BSP MLA Raju Pal murder case.
A counter-affidavit (reply) was filed on behalf of Khalid Azim alias Mohd Ashraf MLA through his counsel, senior advocate Satish Trivedi. Ashraf is the main accused in this murder case. This order was passed by a Division Bench, comprising Justice Imtiyaz Murtaza and Justice Amar Saran, on a writ petition filed by Puja Pal, widow of Raju Pal. Pal, along with two others was assassinated last year. His widow Puja Pal has lodged an FIR naming Ashraf and his brother Samajwadi Party MP Atique Ahmad as the accused in this case.
Licence fee
THE ALLAHABAD High Court has directed the Nagar Nigam authorities not to charge more than Rs 75 per rickshaw trolley as annual licence fee.
This order was passed by a Division Bench comprising Justice RK Agrawal and Justice Vikram Nath on a writ petition filed by UP Rickshaw Trolley Kalyan Samiti, Allahabad, after hearing the counsel for the petitioner and Allahabad Nagar Nigam’s counsel, Dinesh Chandra Tripathi.
In the petition, it was alleged that as per the government order, rickshaw trolley owners were liable to pay licence fee of Rs 75 per rickshaw every year.
However, a sum of Rs 161 was being charged from them. Passing this direction, the court asked the Nagar Nigam to file reply within three months.
