A decision on whether Virender Sehwag would play the first one-dayer against England on Tuesday would be taken on Monday after further assessment of his fitness.

The Delhi opener, who suffered back spasm during the third and final Test against England in Mumbai earlier this week, was "responding well" but a decision on his availability for the opening tie would be taken on Monday, BCCI Media Committee member GS Walia said.

"Team physio John Gloster had a look at him today but he would assess him once again tomorrow," Walia added.
