Deck up your home for festivities
Want to do something special for Diwali this year. Here are some tips on how to decorate your homes during festival season. Read on.
Decorate your homes during festival season
1 Festive decoration:
Every area of the house can contribute towards beautification in a simple and cost-efficient way with the liberal usage of interesting cushions, bed covers and carpets. Warm hues like ochre, olives, fuchsia, burnt aborigine and oranges are the call of this festival. This is the season to do away with the whites.
2 Go vivid:
When choosing carpets, opt for colours that are in in deep tone. Daris and chaatais in lighter colours should be rolled away. The same mantra, if followed with bedspreads, can do wonders to the look of the house and add a hint of celebration.
3 A special occasion:
Diwali calls for a new set of flowers to adorn your house. Deep red roses, orchids and tulips are the ideal picks. Use them in interesting vases, but ensure that the colours do not clash with each other and kill the beauty.
4 Walls that speak:
The walls are an important element. A wall covered from top to bottom with a wallpaper in a strong pattern or a radically coloured wall can add drama to the room.
5 The right impact:
Bright- coloured accessories in oranges, gold, blues and reds should be opted for, in sync with the season’s festive mood.
