Defeated TDP candidate shoots himself

Rehmatullah shot himself after being defeated by Congress candidate Narayana Reddy by a margin of 37,000 votes.

Defeated TDP candidate KM Rehmatullah allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in his house in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh on Friday morning, police sources said.

Rehmatullah, 34, allegedly shot himself with his licensed revolver in his bedroom, they said.

He had unsuccessfully contested from Anantapur assembly constituency.

The TDP leader was defeated by Congress candidate B Narayana Reddy by a margin of 37,000 votes.
