Delhi boy tops Class 12 CBSE exams with 99.6%

Delhi’s Sarthak Agarwal scored an aggregate of 99.6% to become the all-India topper as the Central Board of Secondary Education declared Class 12 examination results in Delhi and Dehradun on Thursday.

Delhi’s Sarthak Agarwal scored an aggregate of 99.6% to become the all-India topper as the Central Board of Secondary Education declared Class 12 examination results in Delhi and Dehradun on Thursday. The results in the rest of the regions have already been declared.

“I did not take any tuition. My focus was on quality of hours I spent on studying,” Agarwal, a student of Delhi Public School (Vasant Kunj), said.

The results showed girls have outperformed boys in the CBSE Class 12 examinations. They recorded a pass percentage of 88.52%, while the boys had a pass percentage of 78.27%.

The overall pass percentage for 2014 — 82.66% — recorded a marginal increase of 0.5% over last year's 82.10%. The highest pass percentage, 94.26%, was from Thiruvananthapuram. Delhi's pass percentage was 86.78%.

Students can access the results on www.results.nic.in, www.cbseresults.nic.in, www.cbse.nic.in and also through SMS and an Interactive Voice Respose System (IVRS).
