According to reports, Manorma (10), daughter of Suresh Chauhan and Shyamlata (2), daughter of Dina Nath Chauhan, both residents of Parwarpar village under Ramkola police station, were under going treatment for dengue in hospital where they succumbed to the disease. Similarly, Annu, daughter of Ram Kripal Nishad and Nandini, daughter of Deen Dayal, both residents of Sohsa village too dies of dengue on Saturday.
The dreaded disease is spreading its tentacles in the town too. Reena, daughter of Vishwanath, Sonu son of Deen Dayal and half a dozen other patients, are under going treatment at different hospitals in Kasia and Hata areas but the district and health officials appear to be in a slumber.
Meanwhile, two more patients of dengue were detected in Gorakhpur in the last 24 hours who were referred to Sanjay Gandhi PGI, Lucknow.
Son of Shrinath Agrawal of Civil Lines area under Cantonment police station, was under going treatment in a private hospital and last night his platelet count shot up to 26000. Later, he was referred to Sanjay Gandhi PGI.
Similarly, Tribhuwan Agrawal (52), resident of Sahibganj locality, was under going treatment at Gorakhnath hospital and he too was referred to SGPGI.
Residents are in a state of panic. However, the municipal corporation has not yet started fogging in affected localities.
However, Chief Medical Officer Dr Mahendra Yadav claimed that all community health centers and primary health centres were well-equipped to deal with dengue patient.
