SPO Vikram Singh entered into a heated argument with the sub-divisional police officer and station house officer for denying him leave for the last two months, following which he jumped into a pond on Friday, official sources said.
After some time, Singh, who the sources said, was in an inebriated state, came out of the pond and started firing in the air.
He was immediately overpowered by his colleagues present there. However, one of the policeman received bullet injury during the scuffle, the sources said.
The SPO was later taken into custody and a case had been registered against him, they said.
The injured cop was rushed to a nearby hospital. His condition is stated to be stable, they added.
