The suggestion was made by a delegation of the body’s regional council which met state chief secretary Urvashi Gulati in Chandigarh on Tuesday.

These areas are education and employability initiatives, developing two locations of Rohtak and Manesar as extension of Gurgaon, policy changes required for IT and BPO, and taking Gurgaon to the next level from improving infrastructure to branding it as ‘world's IT and BPO capital’.

In their presentation the delegation emphasised the need for the government and the industry to work in tandem for an effective roll out of education task force and fast forwarding interactions with colleges for industry mentorship programmes.

For developing Rohtak and Manesar it was proposed that these two areas should be promoted as extension of Gurgaon ecosystem that is like Silicon Valley. Better connectivity of these two towns with Gurgaon was also recommended.

Similarly, better policy framework for IT and BPO industry and for branding Gurgaon as a role model were also discussed in the meeting.
